Use Mobile Companion
Connect the mobile app to a desktop engine or cloud API for review, uploads, queue tracking, approvals, and companion workflows.
Best For
Best when you want to review projects and clips from a phone, send simple jobs to a desktop/cloud processor, or prepare captions and approval work while away from the desktop.
When To Use This Option
- You have the mobile app installed.
- For direct desktop mode, the phone and laptop are on the same network.
- For cloud mode, you have the correct cloud backend URL and a cloud account if required.
Setup Steps
- Open the mobile app and go to Settings.
- Open Connection settings and choose Desktop Engine, PHP Cloud, Python Cloud, or Offline/Mock.
- For Desktop Engine mode, enter the computer LAN URL, usually `http://YOUR-COMPUTER-IP:8765`.
- For PHP Cloud, use `https://clipper.zarachsoft.shop` unless your team uses another PHP backend.
- For Python Cloud on iPhone/iPad test builds, use `http://45.61.130.68.sslip.io/python-cloud`; do not use the raw IP or `:9200` because iOS can reject raw-IP HTTP requests.
- Use Test Connection after saving settings.
- When selecting a phone video in cloud mode, use Keep on this device by default. Choose Upload to cloud only when cloud processing or another device needs the actual source file.
- For pasted links, use Metadata first by default. Choose Full media now only when the backend should download the source media.
- Only Processing Queue and Job Detail auto-update progress. Other mobile pages refresh manually with pull-to-refresh or Refresh.
- Keep heavy video work on desktop/cloud when the phone build does not include native FFmpeg or when files are long/large.
- Use mobile for queue review, clip/caption review, approvals, simple exports where available, and handoff back to desktop/cloud.
